Automatically Start Sunbird

Filed under: teknolohiya — girardaquino @ 7:06 am

I’ve been using Sunbird for quite some time now and thought that people might be wondering about the same question I asked a few days after installing the stand-alone calendar from Mozilla. How can I make it run when windows starts?

Well, the answer is very simple actually. Just go to the installation folder, create a shortcut for Sunbird.exe and place it inside the startup folder.

The installation folder should be in “C:\Program Files\Mozilla Sunbird\sunbird.exe”, while the startup folder should be in “C:\Documents and Settings\Girard\Start Menu\Programs\Startup”

gnome-blog and wordpress

Filed under: teknolohiya — girardaquino @ 4:06 pm

i got this new blogging software from the repos of ubuntu and it does a wonderful job. this is my test post using the application. it’s simple and simply works. all you have to do is to add xmlrpc.php so that:

http://yourname.wordpress.com/xmlrpc.php

is in the blog base url of the preferences.

to the end of your blog url and it’s supposed to work smoothly… well at least it did for me…

here’s a screenshot of the window while making this post:

edit: the picture was supposed to have been uploaded also, but it didn’t show up in the actual entry though…

OOo 2.3 is out!

check out the release notes at www.openoffice.org. most notable of course is the inclusion of the Tagalog Dictionary in the language list. but they left out tagalog being set as the default language for documents. filed a bug report already.

you can still do spell checks for single words using the drop down list though…

pfffft….
