2011 Christmas Day

Filed under: bahagi ng sarili — girardaquino @ 1:11 pm

2011 Christmas day. Woke up to a daughter disppointed about her empty stocking she had hung the night before. I’d seen her preparing it, and to my confession, it did not cross my mind to make sure something ended up inside it.

I stopped believing in Santa a long long time ago, and I never did want to make my daughter believe in it, but alas, I succumbed to family values. I tried to tell her the truth about the Tooth Fairy and Santa Claus, but they insisted – and I in turn became the cynic. I know one day she will realize that I tried to tell the truth.

2 days before the eve my boss asked me what I gave my daughter as a present and we of course got into conversing about telling the truth. “It gives them something to look forward to”. I thought I got something out of that – apprently not.

Does anyone ever recall their moment of uncovering the truth about Santa?

To my baby, I do have my own fantasy world I believe in. I told you I believe in Angels and a God. I believe that love is a gift and that it is always meant to be. I believe that to some extent, we do control our lives and our destiny, and that life itself IS magic. I do believe in you.

Merry Christmas!

This day. 2011.

Automatically Start Sunbird

Filed under: teknolohiya — girardaquino @ 7:06 am

I’ve been using Sunbird for quite some time now and thought that people might be wondering about the same question I asked a few days after installing the stand-alone calendar from Mozilla. How can I make it run when windows starts?

Well, the answer is very simple actually. Just go to the installation folder, create a shortcut for Sunbird.exe and place it inside the startup folder.

The installation folder should be in “C:\Program Files\Mozilla Sunbird\sunbird.exe”, while the startup folder should be in “C:\Documents and Settings\Girard\Start Menu\Programs\Startup”
